Expert Picks: Best Dry Shampoos of 2016

Expert Picks: Best Dry Shampoos of 2016

Since I routinely fry my hair (and by fry I mean bleach) dry shampoo is kind of my best friend. In case you don’t know this, you need to know this now because it will forever change the health and well being of your hair. And having your hair in good health is going to lead to better health in general. Well, maybe not… but still. Dry shampoo is a holy grail when it comes to hair products for me… why?

Is it because I am disgusting, dirty and lazy and hate washing my hair?!?! noooo.

In fact, I would love to be able to wash my hair daily and have that nice, fresh shower feeling…

ok, enough rambling.

The point I am trying to make is this: washing your hair too often makes it too dry. This causes more breakage. If you are in the habit of coloring your hair (but even if you do not color your hair) opting for some dry shampoo rather than washing your hair literally every single day is a smart idea to keep your hair just a little bit healthier.

Even if you do not use dry shampoo on a regular basis, it can come in handy too when you get a really good blowout or straighten your hair and want to preserve the style without having to re-wash and do it all over again.

Dove Volume & Fullness Dry Shampoo, $3.94

This one is solid but not my favorite ever. It gets the job done. It’s a good product to have if you want to stay on a budget to see if dry shampoo is something you even like. It is also extremely affordable and is going to add some volume to what often becomes limp, flat hair. And no one likes limp, flat hair. Well, unless you do… If you enjoy your hair being flat and limp, then you won’t like this. But if you want some fresh volume, get some Dove!

Moroccan Oil, $10.50 – $26.00

i literally am in love with the smell of this dry shampoo. I am so serious. Even if my hair wasn’t dirty and I wanted to smell delicious for one reason or another, I would spray some of this delicious smelling dry shampoo on my hair and make sure not to leave any pesky residue behind. It is effective and just smells so, so good. Another added bonus is there are two types, one for light tones and one for dark tones. So yeah.

Moroccan Oil, $10.50 – $26.00

Psssst Dry Shampoo, $5.69

I remember back when I first discovered the concept of dry shampoo… oh, those good old days… back when I first started obsessively researching beauty products… well, this was listed as an excellent staple and I truly do love it. It’s affordable as well.
It’s actually making me nostalgic and bringing back old memories of when I first discovered the joy of dry shampoo. This one is not only amazing, effective and simple but has good vibes, too. and you can pick it up at the drugstore!

Psssst Dry Shampoo, $5.69

Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo, $20

Let’s be honest here: this is a hands-down spectacular dry shampoo that is known for being a good dry shampoo. If that makes any sense. If I had to choose a word to describe this brand, I would go with “fresh”. Okay, maybe two words: “fresh” and “clean”. When thinking about what kind of dry shampoo you want… you are going to want one that makes your dirty-ish (or face it, dirty and oily hair) feel fresh and clean. This one does the job without leaving a ton of annoying residue and weird sticky stuff. Unless you like weird sticky stuff (which someone people do) this one is a great pick.

According to the company’s website, “Our award-winning dry shampoo has been a bestseller for over 40 years! “Normally I would scoff at something like this, but to be honest… there dry shampoo is pretty great.

Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo, $20

Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo, $30

ok so, this one is pricey. So before continuing, I have to say… if you do not have the money to waste, don’t bother. If you do, though, it’s worth it. What is unique about this one is that is has a non-aerosol powder mist that contains “25 pure flower and plant essences”.

According to Aveda, it is “99.8% naturally derived”. To be honest, I am not 100% what this means, but if this is important to you… then this is a solid choice for you!

Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo, $30

DevaCurl No-Poo Quick Cleanser, $20

This brand is notoriously perfect in every way when it comes to any kind of curls, whether your hair is super curly, somewhat curly or just wavy. That’s why this dry shampoo exists and is amazing if you have any type of curl in your hair!

It’s extremely refreshing and a must-have for those with curls! It’s worth it. Trust me.

DevaCurl No-Poo Quick Cleanser, $20

Sebastian Dry Clean Only Dry Shampoo, $19.95

This one is really awesome if you want to re-add a nice “style” to your hair. Sebastian is known as a very “professional” line and its products do not disappoint.

It’s going to add a nice texture to your hair while giving you that necessary refreshment your hair needs. It truly does combat excess oil and you are going to love it. It’s amazing. Truly.

Alterna, bamboo style cleanse extend translucent shampoo mango coconut, $22

i love the smell of this one. This one is really good if your hair is extra dirty. I’m not sure why or what the science behind it is. All I know is that if my hair feels particularly greasy this one gets the job done. And it smells extremely delicious and refreshing, a blend of mango and coconut, but it is by no means too strong. Trust me, you will love it. i love it. I am running out of my current bottle. It’s amazing.
