Flush Your Liver With These 8 Healthy Detox Water Recipes

Flush Your Liver With These 8 Healthy Detox Water Recipes

Water is a great way to flush out toxins from your body and get yourself feeling healthier and better on a daily basis. Plus, drinking water is a great way to clean out your liver as well.

However, if you add just a few ingredients to your water, you can amplify the detoxification effects and easily get much better results for you and your health.

Try one or more of these recipes either as a standalone way to detox each day or as part of a bigger strategy to detox your entire body. Note that these recipes are targeted at different issues, so pick the one that’s most applicable to your situation.

1. Cinnamon Apple Detox Water

Want to know a great advantage that this detox water recipe has? It’s got almost zero calories.

You get a few calories from the apple, but so few as to be almost negligible. It’s got cinnamon to kick your internal organs into self-cleaning gear… plus the apple provides you with a natural source of tons of vital nutrients, minerals, and vitamins.

This will help boost your detoxification process (way better than normal water) and tastes great to boot!

2. Lemon Mint Detox Water With Cucumber

Of all the vegetables, cucumbers are the best at hydrating your body. This is because they’re mostly made up of water, giving you the splash of hydrating h2o you need to keep your body running clean.

Most detox programs include healthy doses of cucumbers anyway, and this is a great way to include them. Using cucumber in the water gives you their nutrients, plus the lemon juice will give your body a dose of citric acid that helps clean itself out and scour your digestive system.
The mint in this recipe provides a cool refreshing taste and pairs very well with the lemon and the cucumber.

3. Detox Water from Jillian Michaels

Jillian Michaels (of Biggest Loser fame) has her own line of workout and diet books, and she’s endorsed this detox water recipe.

To use it, you want to add cranberry juice, dandelion tea, and lemon juice mixed with water. These ingredients synergize to provide several detoxification benefits to your body – one of which is increased weight loss.

4. Strawberry Detox Water

Who doesn’t love the taste of strawberries?

Adding the awesome taste of strawberries to your detox water is great for a couple reasons, it tastes amazing, and it also gives you key antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins in your detox program.

This recipe has also got rosemary and watermelon in it (both of which also taste great), and that combination gives you an easy, ideal summer drink that goes down smooth and leaves you feeling great.

5. Detox Water Simplified

This detox water is about as simple as you can make it, and it also gives you a huge boost over regular, un-enhanced water.

You can use this type of water in a slow, gradual detoxification plan, where you’re doing a little bit each day. To use it, just squeeze a half lemon worth of juice into water that you drink upon waking up.

By drinking it right when you wake up, you’re getting your body water when it needs it most and it’s at its most dehydrated, plus the lemon juice stimulates your digestive system and gets it ready for the day.

6. Detox Water With Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a great ingredient that massively helps with the detoxification process – more than enough reason for it to be in every cupboard.

This recipe calls for lemon, cucumber, and mint – which is on this list further up – but the apple cider vinegar pushes it over the top in terms of detoxification efficiency.

7. Master Cleanse Lemon and Cayenne Pepper Detox Water

When you’re doing the master cleanse, the key point is the part where you stop eating regular foods and only drink this detox water.

This recipe is made with lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper, and it’s supposed to kick the body into detoxification mode in high gear, to get the most efficient and powerful detox you can have for your body.

Plus, your digestive system gets a break because you’re not eating any food, which completely lets you become cleaned out from the inside.

8. Fat Flush Detox Water

This detox water is made with specific fruits that are targeted towards helping you lose weight faster.

In particular, grapefruit will help spur your body to burn fat and keep you feeling thinner.

In addition to the always awesome grapefruit, this recipe uses tangerines – which give you the citrus you need to burn fat, as well as cucumbers for their hydrating properties and great minerals.

I have been on a great diet for a few months now and each morning it starts with something like this. My body feels great and I know it is good for my internal organs. Thank you for posting about this!

Each day, I like to get into the detox mode with a glass of ice cold water that has natural lemon juice in it. It gets your liver going in the morning and that helps filter out what you put into your body the last 24 hours.

Detox water? I never heard of it before. The next time I try a detox, I might have to look for these products and see how well they work.

You should try it, you will be very surprised!

This is awesome! I like to detox at least once per month and being able to do it with water, which I drink a lot of anyways, is a bonus.

  • Sara Bailey August 10, 2015, 7:29 pm

This is an awesome detox list. I have heard of and tried a few of these types of waters, but not all of them. Now I have a list to work from, thanks for posting this!

I cannot get anything like this where I live. Is it possible that I could order it from an online source?

    • Allyn Mauer   August 7, 2015, 9:29 pm

I would say that is a no, but it is just a guess. You would have to look around. I would check Google to see if there is a health related store like Amazon out there somewhere.

  • Alyssa Tadlock   August 7, 2015, 8:17 am

I have read that about cinnamon kicking starting your body. I am usually not a fan of it, but I would give it a try to see if my body feels better as a detox.

  • Mai   August 6, 2015, 9:39 pm

These are commercial types that you can buy, right? I really didn’t want to have to buy fresh fruit to put into my water manually…

  • Alyssa Tadlock   August 6, 2015, 9:28 pm

Lemon with cucumber? That sounds very refreshing!

    • Ava Wilson August 7, 2015, 9:41 pm

It is! You should try it sometime. You really get a boost from it if you drink it in the morning!

  • Shiloh   August 5, 2015, 12:15 pm

I know for a fact the apple cider vinegar works, but I hate making that one LOL.

  • Odelia   August 5, 2015, 12:02 pm

Water is great for you body. If you need a little flavor, these are good options. The key is to get as much water in your body as possible.

    • Sandra Todd August 10, 2015, 7:39 pm

Yes it is. I used to like flavored water, but after a little while with just drinking normal water, I got more used to that and now I prefer it.

  • Tarsha   August 3, 2015, 10:17 am

Awesome. I love to drink water, do not get me wrong, but once in a while it is nice to have a flavor or two to choose from. If I can get a little detox in at the same time, that is even more of a bonus!

  • Amiee Nobles   August 1, 2015, 12:34 pm

  • Elizabeth Bower July 31, 2015, 12:19 pm

  • Heidi Walton July 30, 2015, 1:35 pm

  • Jessica White July 30, 2015, 1:24 pm

I have heard of the cinnamon water recipe before. I tried it a few times and even though I usually like flavored water, that one was hard for me to handle.

  • Amanda Skinner July 29, 2015, 2:21 pm

I typically detox with just regular spring water. I was never really a fan of any of the flavored waters, or putting anything into my water.

  • Alexandra Harris July 29, 2015, 2:09 pm

I never really thought about just dropping berries into my water. Great idea!
