5 Effortless Ways To Lose Weight Without Trying

Losing weight has to be painful, right? Well, maybe not. Everyone knows the big advice when it comes to losing weight – eat less, sweat more, burn calories, yadda yadda yadda.

But most people focus completely on the big picture – and miss all the little ways that make it much easier to lose weight.

In fact, putting these effortless weight loss tricks to work for you will cause the pounds to melt off way faster than they ever would without them.

So here are 5 tricks to losing weight the easiest way:

1. Get Moving!

Even if you don’t have an hour every day to devote to a gym plan or a fitness routine, you can still add more movement throughout the day to burn more calories and keep you healthier.

Taking the stairs instead of the elevator, standing up at your desk instead of sitting, and walking to lunch instead of driving are all great ways to keep yourself moving and keep those calories burning!

Here’s the most effective way to burn calories.

2. Eat Dark Chocolate For Dessert

This is one of the easiest pieces of advice, because who doesn’t want to eat more chocolate?

Dark chocolate is actually quite good for you, and also contains much less sugar than other typical desserts.

By limiting your dessert intake to only dark chocolate, you save yourself a ton of calories on dessert while still getting a tasty treat.

These tricks help you get started and stick with exercising!

3. Drink A Glass Of Water Before Each Meal

It’ll help you stay hydrated all day, and instantly create a feeling of fullness in your stomach that will make it much easier to cut down on portion size and consume less calories – so that you lose more weight.

4. Control The Sizes Of Your Portions

Keeping portion size consistent every meal is one of the best ways to lose weight. That way, you don’t trick yourself into thinking that you’re “eating healthy” when you’re really just eating way more of a healthy food.

By measuring out your snacks before eating them, you avoid mindless binge eating and cut down on wasted calories throughout the day, which translates into pounds and pounds of fat lost.

Watch out for this dangerous fitness trend that’s actually really bad for you.

5. Swap Out The really Bad Stuff In Each Meal

Instead of a super heavy creamy salad dressing, try a vinaigrette or a light salad dressing instead. That will save you hundreds of calories in the long run and help you slim down faster than before.

When you’re going for healthy fruit, pick the fresh stuff over the dried variety and you’re slashing even more calories than before.

Even though working out is hard and can take up your time, these little things DO make a difference. Try them and see!

Get moving, watch your weight each week and make sure you are not over-eating. That is what I do and I am satisfied with the results.

Get moving is one of the main things. Spend less time on the couch or in your favorite chair. You WILL see the difference in your body!

What a nice title :) Losing weight is always going to take some work, but at least you know that this list will get you off the couch.

I will have to show this to my husband. He is always saying, “I’ll workout if I do not have to do the work”. Such a clown!

With the way that health addicts are today, more eateries are giving in to the diners that want to substitute something for a healthier option.

Losing weight is not easy. I am 54 and would like to lose weight, but I am afraid that my heart is not going to be strong enough to take on a new workout routine. What do you recommend?

Just stay moving. That is quite easy if you think about it and if you own something like a FitBit, there is a nice little reminder on your wrist to keep your feet moving!

What is so hard about losing weight? It should be hard work otherwise it is not worth your time, right?

    • Pippa Churchill July 4, 2015, 12:47 pm

Very true. There is nothing that is easy to do if YOU think it is worth it.

      Great post!

If you need to get on a dieting routine, these are a great way to teach your mind to watch what you eat. Once you get into that routine, the rest is easy, but you must stick to it for it to work.

Drinking plenty of water is a good tip and should be a part of your regular routine.

For a little while, I was swapping out the worst part of each meal. I was able to “enjoy” my bad meals, but not get pounded by the bad things each time. It was a good way to ween myself away from things that did not help my weight.

So many people fall into a trap like this because it is misunderstood. Of course these types of things do not take much effort, but if you misunderstand them, you think you are going to drop 5 dress sizes by doing them.

Being able to control your portions is the first step. Once you get that down, the weight that is not supposed to be there will go away. Then when you flatten out, the real work begins.

It would be quite effortless if you are not trying :) However, I know that if you are serious about losing weight, you ARE going to be working at it!

  • Joan R. June 22, 2015, 11:30 am

Losing weight without trying is just something that will NOT happen. There is work to be done there and if there wasn’t I would call it witchery.

  • D. Frank June 19, 2015, 12:44 pm

I have seen websites out there that can teach you how to get a small workout to your body even if you are standing in a line at a store.

    • Viola P. June 26, 2015, 2:31 pm

This is entirely possible. If you can keep your heart rate up and your metabolism cranking, you are in good shape. That does not always mean you need to be sweating your butt off.

  • Jenny Carson June 16, 2015, 6:05 pm

LOL, without trying. Well, everything on this list has to do with trying! There are many resources online that allow you to sneak in a little exercise each day so you can do that as a minimum.
