Fill Up All Day With These 6 Protein Packed Smoothie Recipes

Let’s face it – one of the best parts about smoothies is that you can take them on the go. Quick breakfast while you’re heading to work, ready-made lunch, it doesn’t matter when you have them, it’s awesome that they’re so portable.

But there’s another truth that’s a lot less fun to face – if you don’t have the right ingredients in your smoothies, you’re going to wind up hungry a couple hours later. And then it’s binge time on stuff you shouldn’t be binging on, like junk food.

That’s why there’s one nutrient you should think about more than any other when making a smoothie – protein. Protein packed smoothies are much better at keeping you full longer – and keeping your appetite under control.

So check out these 6 smoothie recipes chock full of protein that will keep your hunger at bay all day and keep your muscles and immune system strong:

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1/2 cup (120g) vanilla Greek yogurt1

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

  • 2 Tablespoons (30ml) pure maple syrup

  • 2/3 cup (150g) pumpkin puree (canned or fresh)

  • 1 cup ice

Smoothies are a good way to pack a crap load of fruits and veggies down your throat, but I would be leery about using too much protein powder and additives like that.

I have always been a fan of smoothies. Tell all my friends that want to be more healthy to switch to them. I just think that for the amount of time you put into making one, you are getting a major benefit to your day from the ingredients.

Smoothies are a great way to get some extra protein in your diet. What you need to remember is that you are not over doing it as the body will not be able to use it all. Always balance your recipes out, like these here, to get the max benefit.
